With just 3 days to go until I leave for my epic trip to the States, all of my blog reading attention has been going towards the USA. I’m so excited about this trip and I can’t wait to leave but I do love this pre-holiday excitement!
I’ve been scouring the blogosphere for posts about Miami, LA, San Diego, Lake Havasu, the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Sierra Nevada, Yosemite National Park, San Fransico, the Pacific Coast and Santa Barbara. Yes, I’m going to ALL of these places!!
If you have a blog and you’ve written about any of these places, please let me know!
I’ll be spending the first few days of my trip in Miami staying at the newly opened Metropolitan Hotel in Miami Beach. This hotel looks gorgeous and super luxe so we’ll be continuing the luxe theme with these hints and tricks to living luxe for less in Miami. There are some great tips here to wine and dine for cheap in some of Miami’s coolest bars and restaurants.
It looks like there is so much to do in Miami aside from the stylish bars and restaurants. Simon and Erin have covered a great selection
Yosemite National Park is the place I’m most excited to visit and this post by Amanda has made me even more excited. Just look how beautiful it is. I think I’ll have two days in Yosemite but there are some great tips here on how to see and do as much as possible in a short space of time.
If you’re wondering why I’m so excited about visiting Yosemite, just watch this video and you’ll realise why.

This is the thing that I’m second most excited about. It will be my boyfriend’s first time in a helicopter and what an incredible first experience it will be for him. This is one of those once-in-a-lifetime opportunities and a major item ticked off the bucket list.
I know that everyone raves about Las Vegas but I still have my reservations. I’m not a fan of gambling and I’d rather be outdoors than inside hotels. Thankfully, I’ve read a few blogs recently that are convincing me there is more to Vegas than just the casino scene and Elle offers a few suggestions in this post.
Visiting Alcatraz was never really on my wish list but this is what I like about tours; you visit places you would never normally go to and after doing some research about Alcatraz I’m now really excited about visiting.
I want to do all of these things so I’m hoping I’ll get the time. San Francisco looks like such a cool city and as one of the final places on my itinerary it’s going to be the perfect place to enjoy our last few days in the States.
Salvation Mountain is one man’s tribute to God. I have no idea if he intended for it to be such a beautiful tourist attraction but this colourful and strange tribute in the desert pulls in the crowds. It was also featured in Into the Wild.
If you’ve written any blog posts or know or any great articles about the places I’m visiting, please let me know!
