My 5 beach and beauty essentials + how to fake it on the beach

Each year we spend the entire winter dreaming about beach holidays. White sands, blue seas, bright sunshine and golden tans. Arrhh, this is what dreams are made of.

Just after Christmas we re-join the gym and spend hours , hoping that it will have us looking as beautiful as Beyonce within 6 months.

And then before we know it, summer is here.

Agh, what happened to the fitness plan? There is no time!

Yes, this happens to me every year so I’ve found a few ways to fake that perfect beach bod in no time.

Fake the perfect beach bod

1.  – I can’t tell you how many people I’ve converted to Max Cleavage bikinis and they always thank me as though I’ve shared the secret to eternal life. I know the name sounds a little dodgy but these bikinis are gorgeous. They do exactly what the name suggests and boost your bust and they fit perfectly. This summer I have the and I’m pretty much in love with it.

2.  (Look out for it in Primark where it’s a bit cheaper) I love this once a day sun cream. It lasts for 10 hours while you’re active and I haven’t been burnt once since I started using it.

3.  – I’m currently drooling over these Black Orgasmy sunnies from Thierry Lasry.

4.  (Feel Unique is the best price I’ve found) I love the whole Pureology haircare range but it is pricey. If you only buy one thing for your hair I’d go with the sea kissed texturizer. It gives beachy waves without drying it out like sea salt spray does. Just spray it in and scrunch your hair up and you’re good to go.

I love the idea of sun cream that doesn’t need to be re-applied for 10 hours! I know it’s not the most taxing thing having to re-apply but I’m sure this would save me lots of precious minutes on my trips away!!

Definitely. For me it’s just that I forget and before I know it I’m burnt to a crisp!

Given that I’m pasty by nature, fake tanner is the closest I will ever get to the real thing!

    Also, those sunglasses are faboosh!

I used to love Fake Bake, I haven’t used it in years but you’ve inspired me to order myself some! When I left England, I just clean forgot that I could order it online and always complained at it’s price if I saw it in shops in Germany/France/wherever I was at the time!

As for Max Cleavage bikinis, you have me intrigued and I am heading over there now to check it out!

I forget about Fake Bake sometimes too and then I’ll put it on for a special occasion and remember how amazing it is!

Hey, I may be off topic, or it may be because i’m a yoga teacher and into all that “inner beauty” thing. But shouldn’t going to the beach be about having fun, soaking in some sun and enjoying oneself ? Drop the fake 🙂 and accept yourself. You’re all beautiful. And as a traveller, you must know how Asian women would kill for your white, oh so white, skin ! Beauty standards vary from country to country.

There is that, but at the same time, if slapping on some fake tan makes you feel happier and more confident, there’s no harm, right?
